

Jordi tarres



Jordi Tarres was born 10th September 1966 in Rellinars in Spain
Jordi Tarrés was born in a middle-class family and left school to work as a bricklayer.
Jordi became interested in motorcycle trials as his brother Francesc used to ride at the time.
Jordi started competing with bicycles, and soon became European Bike Trials Champion
His brother managed to get Jordi some sponsors and now Jordi was able to compete in observed trials for the first time
In 1983 Jordi rode 2 junior trials events and in 1984 he rode in the Spanish National Trials Championship winning one of the trials.
In 1985 he started competing in the FIM World Motorcycle Trials Championship, winning one race and finishing 4th at the end of the season.
In 1987, Tarrés became the first ever Spaniard to win the FIM World Motorcycle Trials
Championship. He then dominated the sport of trials for many years winning the FIM World Championship 7 times along with 5 FIM World Indoor Championships.
An amazing acheivement , however Jordi is now the third best trials rider of all time, bettered only by Dougie Lampkin and obiously now by the amazing Toni Bou.
He was 9 times Spanish National Trials Champion from 1986 to 1995
Jordi has ridden the Trials des Nations no less than 13 times taking 7 victories with his team ! From 1989 to 1996 , France took the win in 1990.
Jordi took a win in the Scottish Six day in 1987
Tarrés retired in 1997, and then started as sports director for Gas Gas the motorcycles until 2006.
After that he created his own team, Spea Trial Tarrés, where young riders such as Francesc Moret, Pere Borrellas and his nephew Pol Tarrés compete and learn
Jordi was involved developing the Jotagas motorcycle until TRS was officially established in 2013.
